Vocational School Nacala

The Vocational School Nacala, started operating in 1994 running a one year professional training. Since 2001 has been transformed into an Institution of Medium Level Technical Education with the purpose of providing youth access to a professional training according to the needs of the social and economical development of the country. Up to now it has graduated more than 475 professionals.

The Vocational School offers 4 different specializations: (i) Agriculture; (ii) Commerce and Administration; (iii) Construction; and (iv) Tourism and Catering

The education of the youth

The Vocational School Nacala trains students to get basic technical and professional education level in two years.

The basic requirements to be enrolled in this school are: (i) having completed grade 7 and (ii) aged between 15 and 25 years old. At the moment there are two teams: 2007 in 3^rd year and 2008 starting 1^st year.

The Vocational School offers 4 different specializations: (i) Agriculture; (ii) Commerce and Administration; (iii) Civil Construction; and (iv) Tourism and Catering.

Up to now it has graduated more than 475 professionals which are presently working in companies in north and central region of the country. Other graduates are continuing with their studies in higher levels.

Other activities

The agricultural production of this school is more and more profitable in what concerns the school economy, from last year it reached about 2 hectares of land with a maize production, cassava, watering cans and other cultures. The school has a prominent production of animals of small species, kid goats, rabbits and ducks.

Vocational School Nacala has cultural groups that they represent the school in the cultural festivals of the province and of the district. The groups of theater, traditional dance and sing coral are composed by 15 to 20 elements each.

The school promotes sport for youths and it promotes local tournaments among groups of different grades and with the community.

Ä To increase the agricultural production in 4 more hectares

Ä To increase the animal production in order to improve the school diet

Ä To introduce the Tourism course using software used by the travels agencies and hotels

Ä To include in the Curriculum the following subjects: art, music, assistant of television, plumber and electronic tourist's guide in order to train youth with you experience in different areas
